Hours: M-F 8:30-4:30 FLEX

Salary: $45,000 / yearly

Location: Waterbury, CT

Travel Requirements: 150-175 miles biweekly (gas mileage reimbursement)

Our Career Development team is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through innovative employment programs. We proudly offer Project SEARCH model programming at prestigious institutions like Norwalk Community College, Norwalk Hospital, Danbury Hospital, and now, Waterbury Hospital. These initiatives are funded by local school systems and the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, providing crucial support to students transitioning from special education to the workforce.

Position Overview:

We are seeking two passionate Employment Specialists to join our dynamic team at Waterbury Hospital. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding individuals with disabilities through the Project SEARCH program. This program aims to equip participants with essential skills and experience necessary for successful employment in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate skill development workshops and training sessions tailored to the needs of participants.
  • Collaborate closely with hospital staff to create supportive and inclusive work environments.
  • Provide individualized coaching and support to help participants achieve their career goals.
  • Conduct job readiness assessments and assist in job placement efforts post-program completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
